Why This Area
The town of Barnet, not the whole borough
Barnet is also the name of the London borough that takes in Finchley, Hendon and Edgware. This page is about the town itself: the old town around Barnet High Street, New Barnet and East Barnet down the hill, and Arkley to the west.
From our base in Finchley it's a straight run up the Great North Road through Whetstone, so Barnet is close to home for us.
High Barnet sits on some of the higher, more exposed ground in north London. On a hard frosty night the condensate pipe that runs outside from a modern boiler can freeze, and the boiler stops and shows a fault. It's one of the most common winter breakdowns, and usually a quick fix once we know the cause.
